stencil #019 - snoop dogg

 (High St, Northcote)

Snoop DoggG Funk herorated AG for All Good.

G funk is funk music with an artificially lowered tempo,  incorporating multi-layered and melodic synthesizers, slow hypnotic grooves, deep bass, a slurred “lazy” way of rapping to stay in rhythmic cadence, background female vocals, extensive sampling of p-funk tunes, and a high portamento sine wave keyboard lead . . .

It really does sound this good.

A couple of (nostalgic) shout outs:

to Wayne Fernandez, influential Melbourne DJ who presented WKD on PBS 106.7FM (sadly no longer on the air and Wayne's no longer in Melbourne) . . . the 90s would not have been the same . . . WKD was the main source for RnB and Hip Hop in Melbourne at the time and made Saturday night a good night to stay indoors.

And also to Vicky (P?) and Sally from the Valley who presented FUNK SKOOL, another great PBS show dedicated to RnB and Hip Hop.

Enjoy this Snoop and Pharrell duet (what a perfect combination) which has a great stenciling intro:
